As we enter the new year, I'm excited to announce that I will be offering in-studio classes at Alchemy Artisan Works.
The first class will be "Resin Finished Charcuterie Boards", beginning in April (exact date TBA), at the studio. You might be asking yourself, what's all this fuss about charcuterie boards, I mean what the heck IS charcuterie?? In this class participants will be learning to mix and apply a pretty resin finish to beautiful olive wood charcuterie boards.
No experience is necessary, and all materials are supplied. However, the class will be restricted to adults (minimum of 3 and maximum of 6) for safety reasons due the nature of epoxy resin.
It's a great way to get a taste of working with resin without the costly investment in materials and tools, and all the trial and error that goes with trying to learn a craft, DIY style!
Participants will be able to choose from a variety of pigments, including dyes, mica powders, glitters and metallic effects, and will be guided through a variety of application techniques and effects.
The class is 2 hours long. After 24 hours cure time, I will finish sand the backs and oil the boards. Participants will also have the option of having their boards laser engraved with a name or short message! The finished boards are then ready to pick up in 7 days to allow for proper curing. Shipping arrangements can also be made, at additional cost.
