Shanda Louis is an artist and explorer of creativity in all its forms. Through her studio, Alchemy Artisan Works, she transforms raw materials into works that carry both beauty and purpose. From fine art in watercolor, resin, mixed media, and photography, to functional creations in wood, stone, and artisan finishes, her work embodies the spirit of alchemy: the continual transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Her multidisciplinary journey spans more than four decades of artistic exploration—from textiles and Elizabethan costume design to interior finishes, photography, and a lifelong career in hair and nail artistry. This vast experience has shaped her into a true chameleon of creativity, continually adapting her voice while staying rooted in her fascination with nature’s lines, textures, colors, and patterns.

Louis finds her greatest inspiration in the unpredictable—fluid mediums like resin, watercolor, and dye that echo the “perfect imperfection” of the natural world. She embraces the intuitive process, allowing accidents to evolve into revelations, and believes that creativity itself is a form of meditation: a direct path to stillness, joy, and connection.
